Introduction

My name is Kaitlyn Boyd and I am part of the newly established, Madison County Cattlewomen. We are a group of women that share a passion to promote, educate and connect the community to the beef industry. I am also new to column writing but I hope to inspire the readers with some information on what the ranchers in the county are doing, some new recipes for y’all to try along with a side of beef education!

To start off, the ranchers are well into the swing of calving. Baby calves can bring a smile to just about everyone’s face! New life is exciting but calving means…BRANDING! Branding season is upon us and it’s one of most fun times of the entire year. Branding calves brings neighbors and friends together to fellowship and share the work. More to come!
